About me

About me

Languages and life. Culture and people. These have shaped my approach as both a learner and a teacher. A new language is an open invitation to explore your own identity. Finding out who you are in that new voice takes time. Sorry, no shortcuts here! The path, though, can be rich and joyful. You will find in me a travel companion to discover other voices that can help shape your own.

English and me: my brother was a Beatles fan. I could sing all those songs long before I knew what the lyrics were saying. Fascinated as I had always been by foreign accents, I naturally followed by deepening my understanding of the language in college. I love sounds, and the sounds of English were fun. Then I fell in love with many other aspects of the language: its culture, literature, people… And all the new opportunities it has created for me.
